Want to join the team?

There are many ways you can help out -

-You can help with prevention plans;
~brainstorm with a group in your community on plans you could have in case of an oil spill, or if you don't live near the ocean...Brainstorm on how you could help other organizations.
-If you live near the ocean, you can also help with the actual clean up process.
~You can contact BCOil Spill Workforce to register and be trained:
http://wlapwww.gov.bc.ca/eeeb/workforc/homepage.html

ask them if there are any job openings, or if you can volunteer when an oil spill occurs.
-If you choose to take this path as a career, here's some things to think about...
-Roles of the team;
~OSC - OSC stands for On-Scene Coordinator.This person coordinates all containment, removal and disposal efforts and resources during an incident.
~Supporting Teams/Special Forces - these are specific teams such as strike teams, public information, assist teams, scientific support teams, environmental response teams.

You don't have to be just a volunteer, this could be a career too.
